Rapid Polyglycolic Acid (RPGA)

(Comparable to Vicryl^TM Rapide^TM*)

UNIFY^TM Rapid Polyglycolic Acid sutures, better known as RPGA or PGA Rapid, is a braided coated synthetic absorbable surgical suture composed of glycolide, a nonantigenic and nonpyrogenic polymer. The rapid loss of strength is achieved by the use of polymer material with a lower molecular weight than normal PGA. RPGA is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures, but not for use in cardiovascular and neurological procedures. UNIFY^TM rapid absorbable surgical sutures are intended for use in soft tissue approximation where only short term wound support is required. Our RPGA sutures meet all requirements established by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP). .
